SANKOFA!

I got my tattoo when I was 18 years old. Feels like yesterday. Breakdown of tattoo day:

  • Wisdom teeth pulled in the morning.

  • Tattoo in the afternoon.

I figured my tattoo would be less painful since the dentist gave me a large dose of vicodin.

My tattoo is a Sankofa which means “reach back and get it,” “it’s not wrong to go back for that which you have forgotten,” and “reflect on the past to help build the future.”

Basically, who I am today is a direct result of my past…past choices and decisions that I have made. Who you are today is a direct result of the past choices and decisions that you have made.

I’m very thankful of my past choices and decisions (bad and good) because they have lead me to the very space that I am in right now. I like where I am. I am living and embracing my present precious moments while reflecting on my past knowing that my future is bright.

I have no regrets about my tattoo because it strongly represents my beliefs and spirituality.

I believe that everything in life happens for a reason and I am happy for yesterday, today and tomorrow!

Cheers to all...xoxo...be grateful for where you're at...live with no regrets...and live happily ever after!
