Of late, most of my conversations with girlfriends have been about marriage. In the 21st century, with stressful lifestyles, unrealistic expectations, cultural differences, altering attitudes, and sexual problems many marriages are severely suffering and some even dissolving. Although marriage can be stressful, it is of utmost importance to display LOVE, COMMUNICATION, and RESPECT for each other on a daily basis. Like mindedness and strong communication skills between husband and wife are imperative to sustain a healthy long-lasting marriage resulting with a happier & longer life span.
Smart married couples understand that they are a “continued work in progress.” They know that the only way a harmonious marriage can survive is by communicating their feelings positively and effectively.
LET ME STRESS THIS…there has to be common ground, common interests, and a true connection that is beyond the physical in order for a marriage to work. Don’t get me wrong, you do have to be physically attracted to your partner so that the (insert whatever you wish here) can be on point. My daddy reads my blogs so there are some things I just can’t say. *daddysgirlalways* :)
Anyway, to all my married friends, those who are happily married and those who aren’t, and to the singles in search of love, just remember when it comes to LOVE and your EMOTIONS; take it one day at a time.
