Who is John Michael? Those were my thoughts exactly. I was sitting in my bosses office and he asked if I had heard of John Michael (I work for a Bay Area radio station). I said, "no." He played a few tracks and I was like, "he's cool, but I need to listen to the CD in my car."Everyone knows that you have to listen to music in the privacy of your car, on full blast, in order to get the true vibe and appreciation of the artists work. So I listened and I couldn't STOP! Track #5, JUST A MAN is my ish! In fact, I'm listening to it as I type this post (on repeat). Move over URSHER, I have a new R&B crush. :)
So back to the question? Who is John Michael? John Michael is a singer & songwriter who was born in Washington DC and raised in Virginia. He started writing music at the age of 16. He's composed material for well known producers who have worked with artist such as Wale, Jay Sean and Rick Ross. He has a strong work ethic and is determined to create a legacy for his son.
I came across an article where John listed a few of his influences and when he listed Tevin Campbell, I knew he was the truth. I'm in LOVE with the 90's R&B era and that's what John's music is; 90's in 2013. I LOVE IT!
I TWEETED John and told him that I look forward to meeting him when he comes to the Bay Area to perform at Hot Winter Nights and he TWEETED back saying he can't wait. Hopefully I'll get an interview. :)
John Michael is an artist who seems to be moving in silence but it won't be long before EVERYONE in the world knows EXACTLY who he is.
