From Granny Smith to Fuji…apples are one of my top 5 favorite fruits. I’m sitting at my kitchen table trying to figure out what to write about. I looked at the center piece on the table, took a picture of it and decided to write about Apples!

How does that saying go? You know the one…an apple a day keeps the Doctor away. I don’t eat an apple everyday but I am well aware of their health benefits. Did you know that in 2004, USDA scientist investigated over 100 foods to measure their antioxidant concentration per serving size? Red Delicious and Granny Smith ranked 12th and 13th. What are antioxidants? Antioxidants are vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that combat and prevent disease.

Here are 5 benefits of eating Apples!

  • Healthier Heart

  • Decrease your risk of Diabetes

  • Curb Cancer

  • Avoid Alzheimer’s

  • Whiter Teeth (everyone wants white teeth/I think?!?)
